An Analysis of Why Women Love Pete Davidson

By now, you probably know that Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian are officially dating! No, like, for real.

The pair (Kete? Pim?) were out last week holding hands and looking, for all intents and purposes, like a bonafide couple. Which has people everywhere wondering, What is it about this guy? Well, I’ve got the answer. Here’s why women love Pete Davidson.

A Brief Introduction of Pete and his “Big Dick Energy”

Pete Davidson is an actor and comedian who rose to fame after being cast on SNL back in 2014. At the time, he was only 20 years old – already a huge feat in itself! He was definitely a fan favorite – regularly appearing on Weekend Update as himself (or, as they introduced him, the resident “young person”) and in the ever-popular Chad sketches.

But his real fame (you know, the tabloid kind) came in 2018 after he started dating pop-sensation Ariana Grande. And, then, as if that wasn’t shocking enough, the two got engaged less than a month later.

That whole escapade caused a social media frenzy and basically launched the term “Big Dick Energy.”

In reality, the term was coined weeks earlier as a tribute to the late Anthony Bourdain, but then that infamous paparazzi photo of Ariana licking a lollipop and gazing with lust at Pete came out.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, she all-but confirmed his ahem *size* in a since-deleted tweet and the internet lost it’s collective mind.

And just like that, Pete Davidson would forever be connected to the term Big Dick Energy (or, BDE as it’s often referred to.)

But, What Exactly is “BDE”?

While Pete (allegedly) is quite blessed in the phallic area, Big Dick Energy is not actually about size (or length, or girth, or anything else that can be physically measured.) Rather, BDE is about the vibe you give off. So the emphasis is on the E and not the D.

Basically, someone with Big Dick Energy has a certain kind of confidence – they’re not arrogant or showy. They don’t have anything to prove. They know who they are and what they bring to the table and they’re comfortable with that.

But, BDE is not the only reason why women love Pete Davidson.

6 Reasons Why Women Love Pete Davidson

Personally, I’ve been a huge PD fan since his early SNL days, so I don’t really understand why people are suddenly so surprised by his appeal. I mean, he’s adorable! Of course, ladies love him – why is this even a question? But, apparently, a lot (and I mean a LOT) of people (mostly other men) don’t see it.

So, here’s a breakdown of exactly why women love Pete Davidson.

1. His Sense of Humor

I’d be lying if I said women didn’t like six-pack abs and smoldering eyes. We do – we may not be quite as visual as men, but it still matters. But what matters more than looks is personality. And humor – well, humor is at the very top of that list. Get a girl to laugh and you can get her to fall in love with you.

As a cast-member of SNL and a stand-up comedian, Pete’s definitely got a good sense of humor.

2. His “Don’t Give a F*ck” Demeanor

This one kind of goes back to the whole “Big Dick Energy” thing – but Pete has a certain type of attitude that draws people in. He seems confident and comfortable in his own skin. He gives off a “this is who I am, take it or leave it” vibe and that’s incredibly attractive.

3. His Vulnerability

Pete has borderline personality disorder, Crohn’s disease, and has had issues with self-harm, suicidal ideation, and depression. But he’s also been incredibly open about all of that.

Again, he’s confident enough to put everything out there on the table. This kind of vulnerability and openness is very attractive to women – we want someone who can show their emotions.

4. His Bad Boy Appearance

Just looking at him, you’d think Pete Davidson was an asshole. He kind of looks like one – he’s covered in tattoos, has dark circles under his eyes (though that’s actually due to his Crohn’s), and dresses like an eternal stoner.

But it’s that bad-boy look that women are mesmerized by. For whatever reason, we like guys who look like they’re no good for us.

5. His Oddly Endearing Sweetness

He might look kind of douchey, but there’s something very sweet and innocent about him at the same time. I’m not sure I can even put it into words, but it’s almost as if you can sense his underlying sadness. It’s also been reported that he’s very sweet and polite in real life, especially with the women he dates.

6. The “I can Fix Him” Factor

There’s something very appealing to women about the so-called “damaged man.” This might be a guy who’s emotionally unavailable, distant, or, in some way, troubled.

Pete lost his father at the young age of 7, he struggles with numerous mental and physical health issues – it’s probably safe to say he’s a big of a damaged man.

And, as terrible as it might be, women are drawn to that. It tugs at our heartstrings and brings out our nurturing instinct and the accompanying “I can fix him” mentality.

Conclusion

You might not be a rich and famous comedian, or struggle with the same health issues, but you can absolutely attract women by adopting the “Big Dick Energy” demeanor and an open sense of vulnerability.

I don’t personally find him all that attractive, but yes, 100 times yes, to your analysis! Erghh, being a INFJ empath personality type the whole “I can fix him” has been the bane of my life. I also do love guys who give off that cool, I don’t give a f*ck vibe.

I don’t think he’s dreamy in a traditional sense, but I would definitely love to be friends with him. He’s just a pretty cool kind of goofy.
That said, your reasons are totally on point!

this was probably my favorite blog post from you so far! i’ve always wondered this about pete davidson and you are spot on with the reasonings. it truly is that BDE! Although he’s a celebrity of sorts, his vulnerability makes him seem like a regular guy – if that makes sense.

    1. avatar

That’s so true – he seems more approachable than a lot of other celebrities

I have to admit, I don’t find him overly attractive to look at, but then again neither did I most of my exes before I got to know them. I say good for him, he’s dating the most beautiful women in the world and being talked about by everybody and it doesn’t seem like he needs to lift a finger!

    1. avatar

Just from looking at him, I can see that – but I love how funny and charismatic he is.

I loved to read this. I personally don’t find him an attractive man. I believe in Hollywood there are better options. 😉😅. To be honest I didn’t even knew who he was. It was good to learn a bit more about him.
