Today I’ll be sharing my year in review: the best of 2022.

At the end of the year, it’s always fun to take a look back at everything. Of course, reflection is always important when it’s meaningful—thinking about what you’ve learned, what you’ve accomplished, and what you want to achieve next year.

But sometimes it’s fun to simply think about the more superficial parts of the year. The books, TV shows, and new products you loved.

So, with that in mind, here are my best of 2022 picks.

Best of 2022

There are honestly a million possible categories out there, but I wanted to limit this “best of” list to the ones I know most about. Or, at least the ones I feel most qualified to talk about. (After all, I have no idea what the best car of 2022 was.)

Best Beauty Products

I have a beauty subscription box, so luckily, I get to try new beauty products all the time. But I also looked on several different “Best of Beauty” lists to help me narrow it down. A lot of them listed Dieux Skincare as a brand to watch for. Shani Darden was another one that frequently popped up.

One of the new moisturizers I tried and loved this year was this Biossance gel moisturizer. It was both light and creamy and I wished my beauty box gave me a larger sample when it was out. But perhaps my favorite was this hyaluronic acid night cream from Able Skincare. It’s simple and light and feels amazing when you put it on.

Best Book

I definitely slacked off on my reading list this year. But of the new releases I did manage to read, there were two standouts.

Family of Liars is a young adult novel, but it’s one of the most poetic and well-written YA books I’ve read. My second pick, I’m Glad My Mom Died, is a non-fiction memoir by actress Jennette McCurdy about growing up as a child star.

Best Red Carpet Look

Duh. Miss Flo at the world premiere of Don’t Worry Darling. I mean, honestly. That’s a LOOK.

Best Movie

You know what? I’m just going to give this one to Don’t Worry Darling. The movie itself might’ve been a bit disappointing, but we got several months of entertaining drama out of the whole thing.

Best TV Show

With so many different streaming services it can be hard to figure out what TV shows are worth watching.

Abbott Elementary is a really cute and funny sitcom for those of you who want something lighthearted. Andor was also really good. It was only 3 episodes and even if you’re completely unfamiliar with Star Wars, you’ll enjoy it.

Netflix had a few good shows this year, too. The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is a mouthful, but it’s hilarious. I also loved The Watcher.

But the best of 2022 was, in my opinion, The White Lotus. A fantastic cast, interesting characters, and a compelling story line, this one wins it for me.

Best Song

Taylor Swift’s AntiHero was probably my most replayed song. So, lets go with that one.

I absolutely LOVED it. It made me so sad for her as a child, but so happy that she’s been able to work on healing as an adult.

I still need to read Jeannette McCurdy’s memoir. It’s on my list for 2023. The ending of the watcher pissed me off 😅 but it’s interesting it was a true story.

I thought so too, until I realized that they never actually figured out who did it. Then I felt like the ending was well done.
